Until We Are Free: My Fight for Human Rights in Iran - Shirin Ebadi

Shirin Ebadi was one of Iran’s first female judges and served as the first female Chief Magistrate in the country’s highest courts. She was also the first woman (at the time) to have won a Nobel Peace Prize and is also a political activist, lawyer and founder of the Defenders of Human Rights Centre in Iran.

Until We Are Free: My Fight for Human Rights in Iran details the life story of Ebadi in a candid and compelling style. It recounts her story of courage and defiance in the face of a government out to destroy her family and the world she knows. Her mission, to bring justice to the country that she loves.

For years the Islamic Republic tried to intimidate and take control of Shirin Ebadi and her way of life, this however never stopped her from doing what she knew best, to keep fighting for what was right.

The Iranian government ended up taking everything from Shirin Ebadi—her marriage, friends, her home, her legal career, even her Nobel Prize, but her spirit to fight for justice and a better future still remained.

The tone of Until We Are Free: My Fight for Human Rights in Iran is inspiring, moving and absolutely, bittersweet.  Until We Are Free will inspire you to find courage and hope to stand up for your beliefs and what is right.
