The truths we hold: An American Journey - Kamala Harris

A civil rights leader, Senator and former Attorney General of California and now, the Vice President of the United States of America. The truth we hold: An American Journey tells the story of a daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, the how-she-got-here story.

She is the first American, of Indian and Jamaican descent, to serve in the Senate and the first African-American senator from California, having served prominently as the state's Attorney General.

As Harris rose to prominence as a political leader, her experiences, values and family stories would become her guiding light as she coped with complex issues and learned to bring a voice to those who had none.

This autobiography is one of life stories, written in first-person, the storyline demonstrates Harris’s own voice and opinion, through candid and detailed stories and writing. Harris aims to detail and strengthen voices and issues that occur.

The truth we hold and Kamala Harris voice helps to deal with the big challenges, one at a time as a team. Drawing on wisdom and insight, experiences and her past, she aims to communicate the feeling of shared struggle, through shared purpose and values together.
